    Hi! I'm Alexander!

We will turn Type One into Type None

Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!

We are taking steps to help JDRF achieve its goal of improving the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By making a donation, or joining our Walk Team, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.

Our story.... Alexander was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 2.  Now, at age 7, Alexander is a thriving second grade boy.  However, like all who have type 1, Alexander's body cannot produce the insulin needed to survive.  Instead, he must obtain insulin through other means such as a regular shots or a pump, and constantly monitor his blood sugar levels to make sure that he does not receive too much insulin for the amount of carbohydrates he eats.  Both too much insulin and too little insulin can be dangerous.  As you might imagine, he must manage this during school, during after school activities, and simply playing with his friends.  From the moment Alexander wakes up to the moment Alexander goes to sleep he must monitor and control his blood sugar levels.  There is no vacation from type 1 diabetes.

We are motivated by the courage and perseverance of those facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes - they are the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. We challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D.

Will you accept the challenge to make a difference? All we need you to do is click on the "Donate" button and make a donation.  It’s simple, fast, and fun!

Thank you for your support!
