Join me in the fight to create a world without type 1 diabetes!

Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!

I will be walking in this year's JDRF event to help raise funds to find a cure for the millions of children and adults living with type 1 diabetes. My first grand child who is now 13 was diagnosed at age 12 with T1D. I can't describe the impact this has had on her life and those of us that love her.  It is a constant concern that either her blood sugar is too high or too low.  She pokes her fingers and gives herself insulin many times a day.  Not only does my daughter have the natural concerns of a teenager's mom of knowing where she is at and who she is with, but also what is her blood sugar?, what is she eating?  Did she count the carbs in that cookies that she just ate?  Is her blood sugar dangerously low in the middle of the night? Will she wake up and know if there is a problem?, Is she going to be able to participate in her sports event after school or is her blood sugar too low?  This is an idea of what it is like for her and so many others.  Please walk with team Wolff in September or make a difference for those with T1D by making a contribution.

Type 1 diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin - a hormone essential to the ability to get energy from food. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure.

JDRF is the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research and the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight T1D. This science is complex and costly, and every dollar JDRF is able to direct toward research comes from donors like you.
