The Walk will be hosted at McCormick Field. The address is:
Carpooling is encouraged! We have parking in the lots in front of and beside the stadium. If you’ve been to a game, you know that parking can fill up – I encourage you to get there early for an easier parking experience.
EVENT DAY SCHEDULE
Registration opens at 1:00pm. The team t-shirt contest will be at 1:30pm. Activities and music will occur until the Walk starts at 2:00pm. The Walk typically ends at 3:30pm.
The Walk will take place rain or shine.
The route will begin at the Tourists Stadium. We will turn right onto Charlotte Street, turn right onto College Street, and turn right again onto Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. This will create a circle so that we end at the Tourists Stadium. The walk route has a slight hill. For those of you who would like a shorter route, we will have a shortcut. The shortcut will be clearly marked with signage by the water stop. Service dogs only.
If you're turning in money or redeeming incentives, please visit the registration table. It will be on your way to the concourse from the parking lots. Registration opens 1:00pm.
Individuals who raise over $1,000 will have an exclusive Walk Day experience at the V1P Tent. Wear those V1P lanyards with pride!
Please be sure to visit the New Family Team Tent in the concourse to receive your bandana. This will allow everyone in attendance to know you're a brand new family walking with JDRF this year!
FOOD, FUN & ENTERTAINMENT
We will serve snacks and sandwiches (while supplies last), water, and Coke products at the event. We will also have bounce houses, face-painting, temporary tattoo applications, and balloon animals.
Any outstanding money you haven't turned in yet can be turned in at the event. We will have envelopes for you to complete so your team gets the proper credit. If you qualify for a t-shirt, you will receive a ticket. Take the ticket to the t-shirt table in the concourse and redeem your shirt there. Every individual that raises $100 or more will receive a t-shirt.
