EVENT DAY SCHEDULE
Time: You may check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Opening ceremony begins at 9:40 a.m.
Walk begins at 10:00 a.m.
JDRF One Walk is a rain or shine event. In case of inclement weather, all walkers should report to the Check-In Tent to turn in pledges.
The Walk is a 5K. Follow the route markers as you make your way out of the parking lots - watch for cars! You'll be going to the far side of the Los Banos Pool and walking on the SIDEWALK to Calle Puerto Vallarta. Please do not walk on the bike path. The route does not cross the street. Please obey all laws and traffic signals and pay attention to our crossing guards at the fountain.
Check-In will be the main entrance of the Team village near the parking lot.
General Check-In - If you are registered with money to turn in or unregistered with money to turn in, you will be shown to a check-in table to complete Walker Collection Envelope prior to going to Check-In Tent. If you are unregistered with no money to turn in (same as above).
Fast Pass Check-In – The fast pass is for fundraisers who have registered for the Walk Event Day by 10/5/16. The fast pass will be emailed to you a couple of days before the Walk. You will be able to print the pass or have it on your smart phone and bring with you on Walk Day. Participants will check-in fast and will receive a t-shirt if they qualify (individuals who are registered and have raised $100 or more). Money can be turned in here too.
V1P Status – Is for Walkers that have raised $1000 or more. Staff will give V1P's a lanyard the day of the walk. Be sure to wear the lanyard so everyone recognizes you are V1P upon arrival. Here are the perks of being a V1P: V1P JDRF hat, lanyard, fanny pack, personalized award, and facbeook shout out!
Please stop by the Welcome New Family Tent. You will be given a JDRF One Nylon Back Pack for your family.
FOOD, FUN & ENTERTAINMENT
Just for Fun Fitness will provide an assortment of engaging children's activities.
DJ Non Stop will provide lively upbeat music for participants to enjoy.
Teams that have raised over $3000 by 9/29/17 are eligible for a Team Tent. Deadline must be adhered to for us to order tents. This includes a 10X10 tent, a table, 2 chairs, linen table cloth, water and team banner.
All teams who are eligible will be notified by email.
DIRECTIONS & PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
As you come into the Leadbetter Beach parking lot, please mention that you are here for the JDRF Walk. The max they will charge for the day is $6.00. If you end up parking in either of the Santa Barbara City College parking lots on the other side of the street, the max for the day is also $6.00. You will need to purchase a permit from the unmanned kiosk, which is in both of the lots.
