THEN...Age 10...Jordan was not thinking about college when diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Together as a family we have faced many challenges of T1D. However life is not over because of managing this chronic disease daily.
NOW...Age 18...Jordan is preparing for the transition to college. He is enrolled at the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Fall. RIT will be Jordan’s home away from home as he works to earn an Engineering degree. Happily, he will be attending the same college where the JDRF Walk is held annually.
As parents of a child who has T1D, it is incredibly difficult to send Jordan off, but we know “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world!” (Nelson Mandela) Jordan wants to definitely be part of the change!
