A recap of our year…..Brendan has been doing great. He is very independent and taking great care of himself. He is playing soccer and staying active. We are so proud of Brendan for not letting his Type 1 diabetes keep him from doing everything he wants to do! He did get his insulin pump and that has truly made things easier for him (and us!). We are waiting for our Continuous Glucose Monitor too. This is another piece of technology to helpBrendan manage his blood sugar.JDRF’s researchallows these technologies to be available to Brendan and all T1Ds.
While this year was great, we did have a unplanned trip to Vandy due to stomach virus that hit him fast and hard. Within a few hours of getting sick, we were headed to the ER because his ketones were very high, which means danger for a TID. It is scary for us that something we were able to manage in the past was out of our control very fast. Things will be different and we know that. Each day is a struggle and Brendan will never outgrowT1D.Let’s help Brendan live each daywithout worrying about his blood sugar and counting carbs! It is exhausting!
Please help us raise funds for the JDRF in Brendan’s name as a part of
Brendan’s Team Type 1.
You can mail checks directly to us. Contact us for our mailing address (please make checks payable to JDRF). You can also mail them directly to the JDRF with a notation that it is to go towards Brendan’s Team Type 1. The JDRF Middle TN address is 105 Westpark Drive, Suite 415 Brentwood TN 37027.
