Welcome to our first year particpating in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes.  This is our Andrew's Adventurers team page!

Andrew was diagnosed with T1D in June. He has proven to be a remarkably brave, responsible, & positive young man. In December, he switched from insulin shots 4+ times/day to an insulin pump that he wears 24/7. The injection site for the pump is changed every 3 days. He loves the pump & it regulates his blood sugars much better. It's been an adjustment for everyone, but we are very thankful T1D is manageable. We are also hopeful for a cure. Andrew may play a part in it someday as he wants to be a research scientist to learn how to fix the pancreas when it can't properly make insulin. :)

We are taking steps to help JDRF achieve its goal of improving the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By joining our Walk Team and making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.

We are motivated by the courage and perseverance of those facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes - they are the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. We challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D.
