Welcome to Landen's JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!  

Our lives changed forever Oct 22nd, 2012.  We took our sick little guy to the ER thinking we could get some antibiotics and tylenol for an ear infection.  Things moved very fast yet so slow in my mind.  No one ever wants to hear "I'm sorry your baby has Type 1 diabetes..." 

Landen is a trooper.  He now gets his finger or toe pricked at least 8 times a day and 4-6 shots of insulin a day.  Most can relate it to when they take their child in and how horrible they feel to watch them get those immunizations.  Now we are the ones poking him with a needle several times a day.  It's very hard as parents to get used to and for Landen obviously more so.  Lots of tears on both sides.

Knowing that we can find a cure for this is something that gives us strength and through from one shot to one shot and then from day to day.

We are taking steps to help JDRF achieve its goal of improving the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By joining our Walk Team and making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.

We are motivated by the courage and perseverance of those facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes - they are the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. We challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D.
