Welcome to our Destin's Dream Team Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!  We are taking the steps to help achieve JDRF?s mission: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.  Destin's Dream is to also find a cure so she no longer has to live with diabetes.

Our personal story....

Our beautiful 11 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes October 2006. She was only 5 years old and it's a day we will never forget. She has been the strongest, bravest, most resilient young lady I've ever known. We live with the constant finger pricks, blood checks, carb counting, juice boxes in the middle of the night, corrections of high blood sugars, feeding low blood sugars, pod failures, pump changes, adjustments for sleepovers, calls from the school nurse, and just plain hoping she is ok when she is not by our side. She does most of the work herself and has done an amazing job of taking care of her diabetes. Her doctors always tell her how proud they are of her and her management of her disease. And we as parents couldn't possibly be more proud of our daughter Destin. She inspires us as well as others around her, and she is always willing to educate others about Diabetes. She wears her Omnipod proudly and isn't at all ashamed of her disease. But we as her parents ask you to please help make a difference. There are many lives affected by this disease....too many. So lets donate and walk this walk. For Destin.

Together, we will cure type 1 diabetes and help Destin's Dream come true!

This year's walk will be on Saturday February 23rd from 8-9 at the Mall of America.
