Welcome to the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page for Team Koelling!

As most of you know, our son Henry was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 10 years old. It's hard to believe that was almost four years ago. It's difficult to remember a time without syringes, counting carbs and insulin in the fridge. But life moves along and Henry keeps growing. We have been lucky in that we've never had any serious incidents with Henry's diabetes care. But as a growing boy, who is ALWAYS hungry, I'm sure Henry doesn't feel all that lucky. Though he doesn't complain. 

This is why we are taking steps again to help JDRF achieve its goal of improving the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.

We are motivated by Henry's courage and perseverance in facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes - he is the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. For Henry and for all the other kids and adults who fight the fight every day, we encourage you to make a difference in the lives of those with T1D.
