Welcome to Peyton's Posse JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!
As many of you know, on March 8, 2012 Peyton was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Type 1 means that Peyton must have insulin each time he eats for the rest of his life. For the first nine months, Peyton received insulin shots each time he ate. In December, Peyton was fitted with an insulin pump which has ended his need for shots but does still require us to monitor each carb Peyton eats and then deliver insulin.
Even with this diagnosis Peyton continues to thrive. Peyton loves all sports, swimming, waterskiing, tubing, riding his bike and playng with his sisters. We are amazed that he has not let this diagnosis affect his attitude about life.
While Peyton continues to thrive despite this diagnosis we want to help improve his life as well as others with Type 1. We want to invite you to join us in our efforts to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By joining our Walk Team, Peyton's Posse, or making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.
We are motivated by the courage and perseverance Peyton displays everyday as he deals with the daily challenges of Type 1 diabetes.
Karmin and I invite you to accept the challenge to make a difference by supporting Peyton and our team. All we need you to do is click on the "Join this Team" button and register for the walk or make a donation. It?s simple, fast, and fun!
Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you on Walk Day!
