Kijia's Krew

Hello from the Dietz family!

The reason that we are walking for a cure for diabetes is that our 6 year old daughter Kijia was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic in August of 2012.  These last 6 months of our lives have had many ups and downs and have included many doctors appointments, phone calls, education, reasearch and learning!  Kijia has quickly become one of my heros because through all of this she has stayed positive and picked up on her new way of life so quickly!  She does her blood sugar tests when we tell her to and takes her shots like my "super trooper"!

We have learned that diabetes is something that we can live with but it sure would be amazing to find a cure.  We know that we are not alone in this but it will be good for all of us to participate in the walk and see the other kids and families that are in our shoes!
