Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!

We are walking in honor of Dan Forsman (diagnosed at age 10) and Paul Forsman (diagnosed at 27), who both have type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is not the same as type 2 diabetes and not caused by lifestyle factors. Type 1 diabetes is diagnosed in childhood or young adults. These kids or their parents did not do anything to cause this disease. It also does not just mean you have to monitor your diet and not eat sugar and you will be fine. It is a serious disease that requires multiple needle pricks and insulin injections daily and poses serious risks to health, safety, and possible complications even when the person works very carefully to control their levels and take good care of themselves. Low blood sugar can result in confusion, seizures, possible accidents or other dangerous situations, sickness, or coma. Please help us by donating to help find a cure or help make better management devices for this disease to end the worry for their loved ones, the seizures, the complications, and multiple needle pricks daily.

We are walking to help JDRF improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By joining our Walk Team or making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.

We are motivated by the courage and perseverance of those facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes - they are the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. We challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D.

Will you support our team? You can join our team or make a donation.

Thank you for your support for helping our family and the millions of other families affected by this disease.
