Join my wife Jess and our kids Abby and Michael in de-feeting Type 1 diabetes on August 6, 2011 on the MSU Campus. Yes, this event is in Spartan Country but this is not a MSU cause--in fact Bo Schembechler walked in the Ann Arbor JDRF walk (photo right) and was a big advocate of diabetes research and education.
We learned about this horrible disease when my nephew Jack was diagnosed at age 3. He's doing great Jackie still relies on constant monitoring and insulin to get through each day.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children like Jack.
