It has been almost five years since I was diagnosed with T1D! I have been through a lot since then and just like all diabetics, I am so excited for the cure! My first year with T1D was full of shots! Then we got a pump! Everyday I have a routine that involves testing my sugar and counting my carbs. Every three days I change my pump site. I'm grateful for the people who invented the pump and for JDRF for supporting them. I'm thankful for the diabetes support groups, like JDRF and ADA.
Thank you for your donations! <3
Aliza has been so brave with her diabetes! She has a great attitude despite having highs and lows, one seizure, and one run-in with DKA. She keeps trying and is an inspiration! We are especially thankful for JDRF - their support for research has made a real difference in Aliza's life. Research is progressing - the FDA just approved the first linked sensor-pump! It will shut Aliza's pump off automatically if her blood sugar goes low! We should be getting it in January! One step at a time, we are getting closer to the cure! Your donation does make a difference!
