Dear Family and Friends,
This year, Caitlin’s Cure has a new Captain and I would like to invite you to walk with us on September 14th, at the Zoo, to help support my team! Because there is still no cure, we still need to walk! The best way to find the cure is still through the research JDRF is doing, and I want to do all I can to make sure they keep working on it!
When my mom asked me what things I wanted to support while I have diabetes, I said, “Two things, camp and The Cure, research.” Living with diabetes stinks. Not only do you have to poke yourself All The Time, but, it makes you feel tired, you can feel sick, and sometimes, you can’t do what you want or need to because your blood sugar is too low or too high. I try really hard to make sure I’m doing everything right, but, sometimes, lots of times, it just doesn’t work. My mom and dad try to help, and they worry, A LOT, about what might happen…if I go too low and no one is around to help me out, it could mean really bad things. If I don’t get enough insulin, and I go too high, really bad things could happen. I don’t like feeling different; I don’t like people worrying about me all the time. All I want to do is live a normal life.
So we need that Cure.
If you would like to help me, you can Walk with us and raise money for the Cure, too! You can send a donation to Caitlin’s Cure, or you can donate online at my Page if you can’t make the Walk. All the money goes to the research to keep working on the Cure for me and all the people living with Type 1 Diabetes. We’re close, they say…but I need that day to be here. If you can help us, I really appreciate it.
Thanks for helping me in the past, it has made a difference. I’m on a new insulin pump now, and I have a continuous glucose monitor that I use, (yes, that means TWO needles in me all the time, which I hate, but, it has to be done to keep me safe and healthy) and they are getting closer to figuring it all out. Thank you for helping with all of that. I hope you will continue to help us so the Cure can get here.
The Zoo will be fun! If you want to come, please sign up to join our team!
Thanks for everything,
