Join our team in the fight to help create a world without Type 1 Diabetes!
Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!
The Tigers for Type 1 are gearing up again for the JDRF Walk to Cure Type 1 Diabetes. Jenna and Camryn both attend Western Hills Elementary and have been sharing and growing together in their journey with T1D! We are thrilled to team up again this year to walk together in the effort to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes! We invite you to get to know both girls, donate on their behalf, or sign up to walk with us!
Jenna was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) on September 15, 2009 when she was 3 ½ years old. Jenna is a very busy 8-year-old now who loves her many friends at school. She enjoys reading, spelling and when asked what her favorite subject is in 2nd grade, her response is "P.E.". She is very active and is currently swimming for the YMCA Walnut Creek Dolphins swim team. Jenna and Camryn make a great team and are such an inspiration to their friends, school classmates, and certainly their families!
Camryn was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on September 24, 2011 when she was just 4 years old. Camryn is a sweet, smart, 6 year old who never lets her diabetes slow her down. She loves taking tumbling classes and being involved in her Girl Scout Troop. At home she loves doing art projects with her older sister Taylor, and playing video games with her brothers Devin and Dustin. Camryn met Jenna through her diagnosis and have become great friends since. They both are remarkable girls!
If you would like to become a Tiger for Type 1 and support Jenna and Camryn in their effort to raise awareness and work towards finding a cure for T1D all you need to do is click on the "Join this Team" button, make a donation, and begin fundraising. It is simple, fast, and fun!
Thank you for your support, and we’ll see you on Walk day!
