Mason Legg was diagnosed in October 2012, about a week before his 10th Birthday. After talking to the diabetes educator in the hospital, he immediately said he wanted to help organize a team for JDRF Walk for a Cure. His second wish is to become a mentor for recently diagnosed children who are still in the hospital.
This will be our 2nd walk and we have had a trying year since last walk. Mason's father passed away in August and he has proved what a brave inspiration he can be since that time. Both children have loved and supported each other and me through such a difficult time. I would love to make this year's walk a success!
JDRF Ozarks has helped us in countless ways after diagnosis and beyond. JDRF is leading the way in research for Type 1, searching for a cure, ways to improve current procedures and treatments and community events to allow T1 patients and families to socialize.
