Thirteen years ago Justin was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He's 26 now which means that he's lived half of his life insulin dependent.
I'm sure that by now most of you are tired of being asked for donations. But, this is a cause that is way too important to us to not keep asking! With the support of our friends and family, we will never stop believing that a cure will be found in Justins lifetime. We believe that the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is our best hope for finding that cure. It funds more Type 1 Diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it is making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
Diabetes is a chronic, debilitating disease affecting every organ system. While it most commonly is diagnosed in children, we recognize that children do not outgrow this disease. Insulin injections of 4 or more times a day is what keeps Justin alive. We just hope that a cure is found before life altering and irreversible complications set in.
For the 12th consecutive year, our family is participating in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. The Walk is being held on Sunday April 15th at Dornblaser field in Missoula. It is more than just a walk - it is a fun day for the entire family. There are games for kids of all ages, prizes and raffles, and a luncheon. The best part of all is that the games, raffles, Walk t-shirt, and lunch are free to all participants. There are some really great prizes this year, too! Grizzly student athletes will be at the event to play with the kids, as well as local mascots Monte, Ollie, and Slash.
Walk Day is an opportunity for everyone to have fun and show Justin that we are with him in his hope for a cure. We'd love to have you join us for the walk. If you'd like to make a tax deductible donation, you can donate online, mail us a check payable to JDRF or join us the day of the walk.
Together, we can help make the cure for diabetes a reality for Justin, and the millions of other people affected with this disease! We sincerely appreciate your support and hope to see you on Walk day!
THANK YOU! We sincerely appreciate your support!
