We will turn Type One into Type None

Welcome to our Diabetes Destroyers TEAM PAGE and thank you for taking the time to make a donation.

If everyone on our team 's  Facebook page donate just the suggested $35 (of course more is welcome) we can raise well over the team goal of $8000.

Here are a few things your dollars have helped this past year:

1. First clinical trial of Encapsulation- think transplant of insulin producing cells into a T1D patient with a cage surrounding them so that the sharks (Bad T cells) can't attack and kill them.

2. Smart insulin - injections of insulin for example once aweek based upon a T1D patient's weekly dosage.

3. Inhaled insulin -- more rapid acting than anything on the market, reducing the affects of roller coaster blood sugars that happen afterevery meal in a T1D patient.

4. Artificial Pancreas - we hear about this all of the time.  The current CGM and insulin pump shut off the T1D insulin delivery if a low is detected on the sensor. Currently we and our fabulous endocrinologist are appealing with the insurance company to get thisapproved for Michael as they deem it "experimental", even though Michael is overdue for his new four year pump that is now our of warranty..

With our sincere gratitude,

Diabetes Destroyers

Type 1 diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure.

JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight T1D. Every dollar JDRF is able to direct toward research comes from donors like you.
