As most of you know, Malia was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes July 13, 2006. Our lives were forever changed. As we just recently passed our "D" day, it was just another reminder of why this will be our 8th year taking part in this walk. In HOPE of finding a cure. To stop it from stealing moments, hours, and days from our daughter and family. To stop the anxiety, fear, and heartache it causes everyday. Mostly to stop it from haunting our child's future.
Won't you support our cause?
Have you ever looked into a child's eyes and wonder, is this child living with diabetes? Look into Malia's eyes and tell me what you see. I see, as her mom, the daily challenges she faces living with diabetes. She has had no choice but to accept the fact that she has diabetes and must rely on shots or her insulin pump to keep her alive. Diabetes is a part of her every day life...constant finger pokes to check blood sugar, measuring, weighing, and reading labels of everything she consumes. Diabetes does NOT sleep, take a vacation or is easy to live with. Just ask a family with Type 1. So I ask again, won't yousupport our cause?
There are a couple of ways you can support Malia's Mission:
1. You can make a tax deductible contribution here online, or mail a check made out to JDRF to me at 842 Dalton Lane, Bolingbrook, IL 60490.
2. Join our walk team, Malia's Mission, and walk with us on October 5th at the Lakefront!
Thank you in advance for your support and thank you to all of our family and friends that have so generously supported us year after year--we are so truly lucky to have you in our lives!
