It has now been six years since Roselveth was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. In that time, we have watched him strive to live a normal life, despite the constant demands of this disease. Roselveth rarely complains, and he continues to inspire us daily with his courage and positive attitude.
Since last year, Roselveth started using an Insulin Pump and Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM). The Pump and CGM helps reduce the long term health risks Roselveth faces with this disease. It has been challenging and Roselveth has been so brave with the changes. At our last diabetes appointment, we were informed that (after six years of very hard work) Roselveth’s A1C is finally where it should be!!!
Throughout it all, Roselveth's dream is to be a "normal kid". Our family is more committed than ever to doing what we can to help fund advancements so that Roselveth's dream, like so many others, can become reality.
In an effort to raise money to help find a cure for Type 1 diabetes, and to encourage and support Roselveth, we formed "Roselveth’s Round-Up" and we continue to be amazed at the support we have received from family and friends. For the sixth year in a row, we will again be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes. JDRF is the largest charitable funder of Type 1 Diabetes research worldwide. Our family believes strongly that supporting JDRF is the best way we can work towards improving daily life for Roselveth and so many others like him. This year's walk will be held on:
Saturday, February 21st from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Mall of America.
You can join "Roselveth’s Round-Up" by being willing to help in one of the following ways:
1) Make a contribution in support of Roselveth’s Round-Up. You can either donate here online or by sending a check made out to JDRF to our home address;
2) Come walk with us on Saturday, February 21st. It’s just a fun, leisurely walk inside the Mall of America, with no set time or distance requirements, and is a great outing for the entire family! Each year it is amazing to watch the fun that Roselveth and his friends have as they join in the big celebration that day as we all get caught up in the HOPE for a CURE!
Also, we invite you to watch the video we made of Roselveth and his life with diabetes found below. We hope it will encourage others to join in this cause. Thank you for supporting our family in our efforts to find a cure. With Faith, Hope and Love we can do great things for the future of Roselveth and many others with this disease!
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
