T1D looks like me! Me on "America's Diabetes Hour"
The red blood drop on my index finger symbolizes the finger pricking I endure daily.
I'm the take steps towards a cure type.
I'm the Cut the BS Type!
I was diagnosed in 2012 at the age of 32 and thought, "Ain't nobody got time for this!" This condition requires multiple glucose checks, multiple daily injections of insulin, and ain't nobody got time for this B.S...I mean Blood Sugar, and we need to cut it out.
Despite my frustration in not having much time for this condition, I have to make time for T1D, or Type One Diabetes. Why? Because I want to live a full and fun life. And I want to be known as the Cut the BS Girl who "used to have diabetes."
Part of my volunteering efforts include reaching out to newly diagnosed families as well as adults living with T1D. I fundraise so that when I do reach out to these families, I can assure them that someone, somewhere is working on ways to give us better tools, better technology, faster insulin, and one day, a cure.
Please help me raise these funds so that I can continue to assure these families who are touched by T1D by making a donation today.
Thank you for your support and Cut the BS! I mean Blood Sugar!
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
