Join me in the fight to create a world without type 1 diabetes!
Hello family and friends,
Some of you may already know that our daughter, Sydney, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last fall. She is managing the disease well, and is calculating and administering her own insulin correction shots (with a little help from Mom and Dad occasionally). The good news is that there is some promising research that is being made toward a cure and better treatments for this disease.
I just formed a team for the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes & 5K Run to raise money for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The Walk raises funds for JDRF's strategic plan to end T1D, a serious autoimmune disease, by delivering new treatments that progressively remove the daily burden, side effects, and complications of the disease.
As I count down to the big day on 10/5/2014, I am asking you to join my team and support my commitment to raise money for this critically needed research. Joining my team is easy using my team fundraising page! Once you register, you’ll find fundraising tips and tools in your Participant Center. This will be our second year participating in the walk/run. It was a great event last year and we look forward to another one this year.
If you are unable to join my team, please consider making an online donation. Donating online is quick, easy, and secure! If you prefer to write a check, please let me know and I can send you my mailing information.
Thank you for your support and for helping JDRF to create a world without T1D.
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
