Welcome to Connor's Troopers JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!
Connor McDermott was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on December 23rd, 2008. Thanks to the wonderful doctors and endocrinologists at Dayton Childrens Hospital along with the research done by JDRF, Connor is able to live a fairly "normal" life.
Different than other kids he has to check his blood glucose level before every meal, and most every snack. Connor is then able to "cover" the carbohydrates that he eats with insulin injections that are calculated and then injected using his Animas Ping pump. The pump delivers carefully measured amounts of insulin to Connor in order to regulate his blood sugar level. Prior to having the pump, Connor would have to inject insulin to his leg, arm or stomach using needles. The pump has made a big difference in Connor's life, and the pump was directly related to the research done by JDRF. Your dollars, help Connor directly.
Connor's Troopers challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D.
Will you accept the challenge to make a difference by walking with us? All we need you to do is click on the "Join this Team" button, make a donation, and begin fundraising. This is simple, fast, and fun!
Thank you for your support, and we will see you on Walk day!
Can't make it to walk day on October 12th? Please consider making a donation in Connor's name. He visits this site often to see who has signed up and donated to his team, so your love and donation is appreciated.
