Dear family and friends –
For the fourth September in a row we are running the 200+ mile Reach the Beach relay! We have 5 teams comprised of 54 runners who will be racing across New Hampshire from the White Mountains to Hampton Beach over two non-stop days all to raise money for JDRF and to help improve lives and ultimately find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
In three years we have raised over $290,000 for JDRF! I can assure you that it’s a big deal and will and make a meaningful difference in the treatment and cure of T1D.
Many of you gave generously last year (and the year before!). We sincerely thank you and hope you will support JDRF again. Please know every donation is meaningful – whether it’s $5 or $5000. Every dollar helps us get closer to our goal.
JDRF is an international organization that funds critical research for treatment and ultimately a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. T1D is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure (at least not yet!).
JDRF has played a key role in funding virtually every advance in Type 1 Diabetes treatment and research; from insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors to the modern insulins that all insulin-dependent diabetics use. JDRF has awarded 121 new research projects in 2015 and is currently funding 50 active clinical trials and research in 18 countries. JDRF is also a significant contributor to the greater Boston economy, sponsoring $40 million in active research grants awarded to 47 projects in the Boston area.
Please join team Agony of Duhfeet in support of JDRF and make a donation to help fund essential research and treatments.
