Ride Ryan Ride!!!

Hi friends and family!

The Burlington, Vermont bike ride for JDRF on July 14th will be my first long ride since becomming a mom to my twin boys who turned 1 on May 3rd.

The pregnancy and ensuing year were full of challenges. There were days where I couldn't imagine ever participating in a long distance bike ride again. Somehow, here I am! Ready to ride again!

Being a mom has also made me aware of what millions of families go through with a diagnosis of diabetes. Having a child with a life long obligation of testing blood sugar and taking insulin shots is exhausting and scary.

As always, I ride in honor of my dear friends who I watch conquer diabetes everyday. Blake, who is expecting his second child in July and Jen, who will participate in her second Ironman competition this year!

JDRF is an amazing organization and they fight passionately against Type 1 Diabetes. Please join me and them in this cause.

I made it out on my bike yesterday. I did 8 loops in Prospect Park, about 28 miles. I can't stand looping. Alex can take it longer than I can. I do know a few crazy people who have looped 100 miles. I laugh even thinking about it. You can really loose your mind!
My Dad's arriving Saturday and staying for 2 weeks. I'm hoping I can use this time to get off the loop and over to 9W for some long rides. Thanks Dad!!
Also big thank you to my donations thus far!! Your support pushes me to train longer and harder.
