Join me in the fight to cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes!
Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Ride to Cure Diabetes, along with hundreds of other riders across the country to improve the lives of all people affected by Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). I have registered to take part in this event and will ride 100-miles on July 27th in Burlington, Vermont.
As someone who lives with T1D, it can be difficult and even life threatening. It affects both those of us who have it as well as our family and friends who we love and who love us. T1D is sometimes silent, because I work hard to mange and stay on it, only those who really know me even realize it. It requires constant thinking, calculating and taking responsibility for my actions. Do I or others living with it have a choice? No because it is something we live with 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and for me almost 18 years now. It never goes away, but even though it is challenging it doesn't change who I am, the wonderful family and friends in my life. I stay positive and strong and think about the day a Cure for T1D is found.
I am asking for your support and donation to JDRF for my upcoming 100-mile Ride to Cure Diabetes. You may not be there with me and the hundreds of others who will be participating on the roads of Burlington, Vermont, but by giving your support and a donnation to JDRF, you too can help me complete my goal of completing 100-miles in riding to make a difference for millions of people living with Type 1 Diabetes, and the JDRF in finding a Cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
T1D Facts - Did you know that:
As the leader of the Type 1 Diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. I ask that you please join me in my 100-mile ride with a generous donnation to JDRF so a cure for T1D can be found?
Thank you for your support!
Please excuse me now, I have a lot of training and miles to ride as I prepare for the Ride to Cure Diabetes on July 27th!

Training to Ride 100-miles - continues !
Had a good week of workouts, some rides on the bike trainer, and then took Saturday off -well if you can say spending the day outside in the beautiful weather we had here in Berwyn, PA this weekend in the garden getting things ready for spring planting. Tilled the entire garden, added some compost and line to the soils, and turned and raked everything into the soil.
Went to the gym early today before going with the family to the Philadelphia Zoo, did 3.2 miles on the elliptical at a hurried pace, but good quick workout.
Continue fundraising efforts, and noticed we have several new folks who signed up for the ride this July this weekend. Welcome aboard.
