The U.S. Senate has overwhelmingly passed a bipartisan legislative proposal (H.R. 2, the 'Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015') that included a two-year renewal of the Special Diabetes Program (SDP), which funds important research through the National Institutes of Health (NIH). With this two-year renewal, SDP-funded researchers all across the country will be able to continue promising clinical trials that are leading to better treatments, therapies and ultimately a cure for T1D.
Please help us in saying 'Thank You' to your Senators in the U.S. Senate, for renewing the SDP with strong, non-controversial, and bipartisan support. Take action today and then also share this alert with family and friends – on behalf of JDRF, your family member or loved one, and all Americans affected by T1D. Thank you for letting Congress know how important the SDP is to you, and to the future of all those with T1D.
Senator, Thanks for Including a Two-Year SDP Renewal in the "Doc Fix"
Dear [Decision Maker],
On behalf of my family, myself, and all those affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D), thank you for your vote in support of H.R. 2, the 'Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015,' which includes a two-year extension of the Special Diabetes Program (SDP).The SDP has led to groundbreaking discoveries and new treatments that are improving the lives of people with T1D and relieving the growing burden of diabetes on our nation's economy. A two-year renewal ensures that promising T1D research can continue without interruption, which will ultimately help us create a world without T1D.
Sincerely,[Your Name] [Your Address] [City, State ZIP]
