As a constituent and JDRF advocate who cares about type 1 diabetes (T1D), I am writing to share my sincere appreciation for the Special Diabetes Program (SDP) extension through the end of 2024 and increase in funding that Congress approved last week.

The SDP has delivered many important breakthroughs for the T1D community including artificial pancreas systems, a recently approved therapy that delays T1D onset, clinical trials that are leading the way to cures, and more.

This funding will help ensure research efforts continue to deliver meaningful progress and hope for Americans impacted by T1D.
