2022 One Walk and T1D Day: Come One, Come All to Triad Park!
No matter where you live in central North Carolina—from Burlington to Wilkesboro, from Greensboro to Pinehurst, from Asheboro to Winston-Salem, from High Point to Reidsville, and everywhere in between—please join JDRF for our first-ever, full-on, all-encompassing Triad One Walk on Saturday, October 29, at Triad Park in Kernersville!
What have the past 2+ years taught us? It’s crucial to provide everyone living with T1D—and their loved ones—an opportunity to gather together to celebrate our community and the progress we’ve made toward creating a world without type 1. At the same time, we can’t take a cookie-cutter approach. We must be mindful of different schedules and varying needs.
That’s why October 29 is YOUR day! Please celebrate in your own unique way!
Please celebrate your team’s success and the strength of the T1D community in a way that makes the most sense for you.
Option 1: Join us at Triad Park—on YOUR schedule.
Come out to Triad Park—bring a pop-up tent and a picnic brunch—and take advantage of a beautiful fall day! (We also have reserved two huge shelters with plenty of picnic tables.)
We’ll have two scheduled Walks. You may hit the path at 9:15 am or 11:15 am, with short remarks starting 15 minutes prior. The park’s interconnected trail system empowers you to walk any distance from ½ mile to 5 miles. There will be plenty of fun—playgrounds, a scavenger hunt, and some surprises—to delight you along the way.
In between the two Walks, be sure to head to Walk Day HQ for music; games; Sponsor activities; and small-group discussions about T1D Research, new T1D diagnoses, Children’s Congress/JDRF Advocacy, and more.
Option 2: Walk anywhere, anytime, your way!
Create a walk route in your neighborhood, challenge yourself with a long hike, or walk indoors on a treadmill— however you choose to walk, October 29 will be a day for our community to celebrate our stories, recognize our accomplishments, and walk to change the future for everyone living with T1D. JDRF will be celebrating and sharing stories with you at Triad Park and on social media throughout the day.
