Our Miles Towards Mission
We're walking to power more research, enable more advocacy and fund more support for the 1.45 million Americans living with T1D.
2023 Piedmont Triad One Walk
No matter where you live in central North Carolina—from Burlington to Wilkesboro, from Greensboro to Pinehurst, from Asheboro to Winston-Salem, from High Point to Reidsville, and everywhere in between—please join our all-encompassing Piedmont Triad One Walk!
Option 1: Triad Park Schedule of Events
Come out to Triad Park—bring a pop-up tent and a picnic brunch—and take advantage of a beautiful fall day! (We have access to several playgrounds and have reserved two huge shelters with plenty of picnic tables.)
Vendors will be available throughout the morning near the Amphitheater. While you are there, be sure to visit our volunteers at the New Family Welcome Area, Youth Ambassador table, Advocacy table and more.
All walkers with T1D will receive a special giveaway and all V1Ps-our top individual fundraisers-will receive a commemorative lanyard, voucher and more, at check-in. Check the "Rewards..." tab above to see what you can earn for being a Top Team!
Food and drinks will be available for purchase, with a portion of proceeds being donated to the JDRF Walk, from our friends at To the Moon and Back Frozen Treats, and Union Coffee. Complimentary grab-and-go snacks and waters will also be provided while supplies last.
There will be plenty of fun for everyone throughout the park, including games, Facepainting, a history hunt, and more! If you, or a group you are a part of would be interested in the opportunity to perform on Walk day, please email Danielle Hayes at dhayes@jdrf.org. Past performances have ranged from martial arts to dance to musicians. We want to see the full talent of our community represented!

*Map and activities subject to change.*
Option 2: Walk anywhere, anytime, your way!
Create a walk route in your neighborhood, challenge yourself with a long hike, or walk indoors on a treadmill— however you choose to walk, October 28 will be a day for our community to celebrate our stories, recognize our accomplishments, and walk to change the future for everyone living with T1D.
