The Odd Socks

Putting an end to T1D, one step at a time

On 5th May 2017 Paige was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), an auto-immune disease which currently has no cure.

My company PSC Group has supported the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) for a number of years and has joined in the local walk every year here in Schaumburg, IL.

This year we are continuing with our team "The Odd Socks" and we will be doing the walk again. PSC Group has agreed to sponsor and walk on our team to help raise money and awareness to cure T1D.

Join us and be a walker, find out more about T1D or find out how to participate/spread the word or contribute in other ways.

If you're going to walk with us, "Odd Socks" will be (mostly) mandatory ;)

When you have T1D, your pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. This means you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, administer insulin, and carefully balance these insulin doses with your eating and activity just to stay alive.

With T1D there are no days off and there is no cure. But there is hope.

By donating or joining our JDRF One Walk® team today, you’ll support research for life-changing breakthroughs to make it safer and easier to live with T1D, until we find a cure.

Thank you for your support.
