Welcome to the Team Austin JDRF One Walk homepage!!
This is Team Austin's 5th year doing the JDRF One Walk, and I want to personally thank everybody again that donated and walked with us the last three years.
Over the last 4 years our team has raised
- $725 in 2016
- $1,580 in 2017
- $2,325 in 2018 (Top 50 overall)
- $3,475 in 2019 (#27 Highest Team in the walk!!)
Our four year total is an amazing $8,105 (!!) towards JDRF's search for a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Thank you again to everybody who has helped us reach such incredible numbers the past 4 years.
A number that this website doesn't necessarily track, but I think is just as important, is the number of walkers on the day of the event. Over the past three years I have been blown away by the number of people that come and walk with us in support wearing their Team Austin T-shirts. As you can see form the team picture above, we had an amazing turnout of almost 50 people join us in the walk. It was a truly awesome experience.
Our new team goals for 2020 are $3,500 raised for JDRF and 55 people joining us in the walk on May 11th! With the support group that we have been blessed with around us, I know we can shatter these goals, just like we did last year!
From myself and my family, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support of Team Austin and in helping us turn Type One into Type None.
For more on who JDRF is:
Together, our team is walking to help JDRF continue to fund life-changing type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and create a world without T1D. T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure—yet. Your support can help change that.
By donating or joining our team today, you can help fund research that impacts the lives of the millions of children, adults, and families challenged by T1D every day. With your support, we will help JDRF turn Type One into Type None. Thank you.
