Together, we will create a world without type 1 diabetes!
The JDRF Real Estate Games is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Washington DC area commercial real estate community to benefit the JDRF Capital Chapter. The commercial real estate industry has joined together to fund life-changing type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
We want to acknowledge the high-spirited competitive momentum that the JDRF Real Estate Games has built over the past 31 years. As individuals, families, and local businesses, we have endured an unprecedented crisis with the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever it is important to our community that the JDRF Real Estate games continues as a symbol of the commercial real estate industry’s collective strength and its commitment to ending T1D.
Due to COVID-19 the REG in-person event has been moved to Sept. 10 – pushing it into JDRF’s 2021 fiscal year as opposed to the 2020 fiscal year with the original date (June 4).
This means that JDRF needs your help. The necessary decision to delay, cancel, or even flip FY20 fundraising events to being virtual is putting JDRF research funding in jeopardy. We cannot let critical research slow down. Unfortunately, the loss of momentum due to lack of funding could result in the lapse of life-changing clinical trials.
There is an opportunity to rise to this challenge with the Your Way campaign, a JDRF peer-to-peer fundraising platform initially introduced to the REG in 2019. The tool boosted the event’s impact by raising over $55,000 in grassroots support.
The Real Estate Games Leadership Team is calling on the community to raise at least $125,000 through Your Way between now and June 4 – the original date set for the 2020 Games. Honoring JDRF’s 50th anniversary, if 50 company teams were to raise $2,500 by recruiting 50 team members to raise just $50 just – the $125,000 goal will be achieved.
With your help, we can continue our fight for a world without T1D with greater urgency, dedication, and commitment.
