Welcome to my JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes Page!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. This will be my 3rd year participating in the Saratoga Springs JDRF Century ride. My last ride was in 2019 and like many other events Covid put a pause on the ride until now!
I am super excited to be participating in September but more excited to continue to raise funds for T1D.
I ride one pedal stroke at a time, one hill at a time in honor of my niece who was diagnosed with T1D at the age 11 (she will be 22 in August!). I ride not just for her but for so many since then that I have met who live every day with the challenges of type 1 diabetes. I ride for the parents/family/caregivers who face their own challenges navigating the obstacles of keeping their loved ones healthy. I can only imagine the ups and downs.
Our team Logistics Leaders for T1D Cure (LL4T1DCure) has raised over $284,000 since 2016 for JDRF and we want to keep raising the bar.
I know many of us have causes that are dear to us so no donation is too small and it's appreciated from the bottom of my heart. Every donation gets us closer to one day living in a world where Type1 is Type None.
With Love and Gratitude,
I'm taking part in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes because I’m up for a physical and mental challenge that I know will be the experience of a lifetime. And, the money I raise will change the lives of millions of people who struggle with the burden of type 1 diabetes (T1D) every day.
Did you know T1D:
- Is an autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin – the hormone that controls blood sugar levels
- Strikes children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle
- Requires constant carb counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin
- Is a constant balancing act that results in stress and sleepless nights
There is no way to prevent T1D and there is no cure – yet. But JDRF is working hard to change that.
Every dollar you donate today funds research for breakthroughs to help everyone with T1D live healthier and longer, until this disease no longer exists.
With your support, we will turn Type One into Type None.
