In Al's honor, we are fundraising for JDRF because his 3-year old grandson Henry was diagnosed Type 1 diabetes (T1D) at 2 weeks old. Al had Type 2 diabetes, and he and Henry would bond over their sugar monitoring devices.

With T1D, Henry’s pancreas stopped producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. Henry's daily life with T1D brings a multitude of challenges, including administering insulin that need to be carefully balanced with eating and activity, disruptive glucose monitoring, sleepless nights—and wishing for a tomorrow where this struggle doesn’t exist.

Living with T1D means there are no days off and there is no cure....yet! But we have hope.
