It takes One Walk to fight T1D

The JDRF One Walk is your chance to show the world that together, we can conquer type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you're living with T1D or you love someone living with T1D, you'll likely do just about anything to make life easier.

When you participate in JDRF One Walk, the money you raise will power more research, enable more advocacy and fund more support for the 1.45 million Americans living with T1D. And, you'll have a great time doing it! That's because you'll walk with a committed community that is passionate about doing whatever it takes to live in a world without T1D.

Walk Theme:
To underscore how far we’ve come toward curing T1D and improving the lives of everyone affected by it, our theme is: Dancing through the Decades: Moving Forward as One
Our Walk theme drives so much of what our Walkers do—from crafting (and sharing) their own T1D stories to designing their Walk shirts. We encourage you to incorporate this year’s theme into everything you do!

Walk Day Schedule:

There is something for everyone on Walk Day! Come ready to “Dance through the Decades” in your team t-shirts and connect with our T1D Community! You will be inspired and entertained with this year’s One Walk co-hosts, Madison Carter, Eyewitness News 9 News Anchor/Investigative Reporter and Jervay "JKnowTruth" Vanderhost, Radio One Event Host and DJ as we come together to celebrate our shared vision of a world without T1D! We will also have special appearances by professional racecar driver, Hunter Jordan, who lives with T1D!

8:00 am - Site Opens & Walk Day Fun Begins

Come early and have fun at Fun Zone/Activities Area. Take a photo at the photobooth, choose your favorite tattoo, add a little sparkle to your hair, make a Walk bib to get you in the Walk spirit, play games and more. Enjoy breakfast, coffee or a mimosa for purchase at the on-site biergarten. Stop by Resource Row/JDRF Pavilions, to connect with JDRF, diabetes vendors and community organizations to learn about the latest technology and resources available to help you.

9:00 am - Team T-shirt Contest

A fun tradition of Walk. Teams design t-shirts to wear together on Walk Day. They then will have the opportunity to designate a representative from their team to show their JDRF spirit by strutting across the stage for their chance to be one of the coveted top three winners of the contest.

9:25 am - T1D Parade

The parade is designed to celebrate those living with T1D and allow for all attendees to be honored and recognized. Everyone living with T1D is invited to participate in the parade to help us remember why we walk.

9:40 am - Opening Ceremony

We will come to celebrate all that we have accomplished together before the Walk starts. Get ready to warm up with our partner and fitness sponsor, E2M, before we head to the start line.

9:55 am - Special Ribbon Cutting & Walk Countdown

Our Top New Team will count us down and cut the ceremonial ribbon to lead the Walk.

10:00 am - Walk Begins

Enjoy the 1 mile walk around the Whitewater Center with your team (please note that part of the route is gravel.) Keep an eye out for reminders of why we walk along the way.

10:30 am - After Party

Get ready to dance through the decades with DJ Stacey Blackman, on the 1s and 2s and the smooth moves of Radio One Event host, Jervay "JKnowTruth" Vanderhost. There will also be games, food and beverages available for purchase at the onsite biergarten and River's Edge Restaurant (11:30 am)

Parking:

Parking is free for all Walkers.
