The Ford - UAW Corporate Ride Team is dedicated to Going Further to Cure T1D

Ford has been a long-time supporter of JDRF, raising over $70 million to fund type 1 diabetes research since forming the Ford Global Action Team in 1998. The JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes gives us a fun and exciting way to raise funds. Last year, in Amelia Island, Florida our team of riders collectively raised over $100,000 and Ford was recognized as the official Safety Partner for the JDRF Ride!

We invite you to join fellow Ford employees, suppliers, and business partners from around the world, to ride in 2020 Virtual Ford Plant World Tour.

The challenge: A VIRTUAL World Tour of the Ford Plants! Starting on September 1st we will ride throughout the month. Beginning virtually at the Ford Silverton Assembly Plant in South Africa, our Ford riders will navigate the global plant footprint. This tour will take us to India, across Europe and the UK; to Argentina and Brazil in South America, up through Mexico and across the U.S. and into Canada before ending at the Rouge Complex in Dearborn. Nearly 40,000 miles! As a team, riders will work together to ride the entire route.

As our team “arrives” at plants along the route, we will be greeted with welcome messages, along with Ford history specific to that location.

We will complete our journey by inviting all our Ford riders to join in for the final leg, riding the last five miles “together” on October 2nd to culminate at Ford WHQ in conjunction with JDRF’s National Ride Celebration Weekend.

Your ride, your way… whether you ride outside or indoors, alone or with family, friends or colleagues, five miles or 500 miles, every mile will count towards our team goal. Miles will be tracked through the JDRF My Ride Platform via the free STRAVA app, whether on a traditional bike, Peloton or other static bike.

If you have questions regarding the Ride or the registration process, please contact Gael Sandoval, gsandov7@ford.com or 313-402-3132.
