It takes One Walk to fight T1D

Naomi and The Pumpback Whales:
Help us swim towards a cure for Diabetes!

“The Pumpback Whales” you may ask? If the team name didn’t make you laugh or at least wonder- then please take a few minutes to read my explanation.

I LOVE WHALES. Recently, my family went to Hawaii as it was a place I dreamed so much about. As you many know or can imagine, it was picture – perfect paradise. What made it extra special is that we were lucky to be there during whale watching season. Seeing massive whales jump out of the water was an incredible site.

Humpback whales are the largest mammals on our planet and seeing them jump with all their force out of the water was a true symbol and inspiration to all the T1D warriors. If a whale can use their energy to jump out of the water with such a splash, we can do the same in providing everyone with the awareness towards T1D (type 1 diabetes).

We are calling ourselves the Pumpback Whales and in the Hawaiian spirit, we are here to have fun and enjoy life while raising funds towards a cause that we hope will land a big SPLASH!

Bring out your Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts and coconut bras as this will be a walk to remember!  Aloha!!

My Miles Towards Mission

In support of the 1.45 million Americans living with T1D, I'm walking towards a world without T1D.
