Sydney and Mackenzie Skylar have lived with T1D for over 15 years. Their pancreas doesn't produce insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy - and essential for life. Injected Insulin isn't a cure, it just helps those with T1D stay alive and every day is a constant struggle, balancing glucose readings with injecting just the right amount of insulin to not go too low or too high. It is a never-ending tightrope.
