More Ways to Fundraise

Let's create a world without T1D!

We thank all of you who have supported our family in an effort to fund a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. We have created this page so you can contribute to our team which covers our amazing Boca Walk and the JDRF Ride.

The One Walk will be on April 13th in Boca Raton and the JDRF Ride to Cure will be on Amelia Island in October.

It's an odd feeling to be here again, sharing the story of Colbi's diagnosis and asking for family and friends to stand by our side as we walk in our 5th JDRF One Walk united as ColbSTARS.  I can't believe that it has been just over 4 years since Colbi was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes

We are fortunate to have the Dexcom G6 so our little girl's fingers are not pricked as much as they were. That is all thanks to the research and development using the money raised by JDRF.

Since Diagnosis we have lost 926 hours of sleep if not more!

We have changed over 512 insulin pump sites.

We have changed over 200 Dexcom sensors.

But we are lucky.

*We are lucky that we caught the symptoms (extreme thirst, endless hunger, frequent bathroom trips).

*We are lucky because upon diagnosis Colbi was not in DKA and only needed to be in the pediatric unit and not in tbe PICU.

*We are lucky to be with a doctor who believes in technology and is progressive with treatments. This is someone who we will be seeing at least every 3 months until Colbi reaches adulthood (if there is not a cure sooner)

*We are lucky to have a Dexcom to monitor Colbi's sugar near or far.

*We are lucky that Colbi is in a school where the nurse and teachers understand the severity of the disease.

*We are lucky to be a part of JDRF and for the support they provide our family and thousands of others  JDRF is so much more than an organization that funds research, for us it has become a support system for us as a family and as individuals.

***MOST IMPORTANTLY- We are lucky that Colbi continues to thrive in anything she does. Our ColbSTAR lets nothing stop her from being an incredible almost 9 year old (As of February 9th)!

She is our hero.

We hope, pray, beg, and cry for a cure. Please help support the JDRF and their mission to Turn Type One into Type NONE.
