Eagle Ridge will help turn Type One into Type None.
Join us for Eagle Ridge's JDRF Kids Walk to Cure T1D. This will be our school's 2nd year supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in their research efforts towards finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Last year Eagle Ridge raised over $4,000 towards T1D research, and has been listed as a TOP fund raising school for the Capital Chapter of JDRF! So impressive!
Join us April 11 and April 12, 2019 (during your PE class: A day or B day) for this event!
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults—and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. With T1D, a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. The daily life of someone with T1D brings a multitude of challenges, including insulin injections that need to be carefully balanced with eating and activity, disruptive glucose monitoring, sleepless nights—and wishing for a tomorrow where this struggle doesn’t exist.
By donating or joining our team today to fundraise online, you’ll help JDRF fund life-changing breakthroughs to make living with T1D safer and healthier, until there is a cure. All donations are tax deductible and will go directly towards research.
A special shout out to our sponsor for this event Giant Food and Manhattan Pizza!
