Ford Motor Company has supported JDRF since 1983. In 1998, Ford expanded this relationship with the creation of the employee-driven Ford Global Action Team for JDRF (FGAT), combining the passion and power of Ford employees, families, and friends, as well as key business partners from the UAW, WPP, BP, and Ford and Lincoln dealerships. With tens of thousands of volunteers working together to fundraise, the FGAT has averaged more than $3.5 million annually for the past 20 years. Under the leadership of Edsel B. Ford II, and more than 90 fundraising teams across 40 global sites, Ford has raised over $70 million to fund JDRF research.
