Each year, JDRF One Walk brings together thousands of people across the country to change the future for everyone living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). JDRF One Walk gives people with T1D, their loved ones, companies and the local community the opportunity to create change and positively impact the lives of those living with T1D.
With close to 150 JDRF One Walks across the country each year, there's always an opportunity to get involved. Whether you'd like to start or join a corporate or family team, walk alone—or you prefer to volunteer—you can choose what works best for you.
There are three ways to join the JDRF One Walk: create a team, join a team or simply register on your own! In addition, there are three types of JDRF One Walk teams: family, corporate and schools/youth organizations. Family teams aren't limited to family members—they can include friends, coworkers, classmates and neighbors. Corporate teams are created by companies that want to support T1D research, and just like family teams, anyone can join, even non–employees. Starting a school team is a great way to educate students about T1D, help them support classmates affected by the disease and give them a chance to make a positive impact.
Don't see a JDRF One Walk in your area? If you are at least 1 hour or 45 miles away from an existing Walk, you can start a JDRF Community One Walk. These events are led, planned and executed by volunteers who are passionate about raising money for a cure.
Register for JDRF One Walk today and become part of the lasting footprint we'll make for the T1D community now, and for generations to come.
