Ford Motor Company has supported JDRF since 1983. In 1998, Ford expanded this relationship with the creation of the employee-driven Ford Global Action Team for JDRF (FGAT), combining the passion and power of Ford employees, families and friends, as well as key business partners from the UAW, WPP, BP, and Ford and Lincoln dealerships. With tens of thousands of volunteers working together to fundraise, the FGAT has averaged more than $3.5 million annually for the past 20 years. Under the leadership of Edsel B. Ford II, and more than 90 fundraising teams across 40 global sites, Ford has raised over $70 million to fund JDRF research.
Lilly—a global leader in diabetes care—has been a longstanding JDRF corporate partner for more than 20 years, supporting key JDRF mission–focused research, programs and activities across the globe. Through our national partnership, JDRF and Lilly are helping children, teens and their caregivers feel empowered to live full and active lives with type 1 diabetes (T1D). We’re doing this by providing meaningful education and support resources like the JDRF Bag of Hope and Back to School materials and in–person education at our TypeOneNation Summits to the T1D community, and through support of the JDRF One Walk® that engages Lilly employees across the country through a national walk team.
